Medical Microinstruments (MMI) is a later stage robotic surgery company founded in 2015. MMI focuses on the development, manufacturing and commercialisation of the Symani surgical platform, dedicated to enabling microsurgeons to manipulate and suture small and delicate anatomic structures with high precision. MMI focuses on a market opportunity of more than 1.5 million annual procedures in microvascular, lymphatic and nerval repair in US and Europe alone – a market estimated to grow by more than 15% p.a. during the next decade.
Following its inception in 2015, MMI developed the first working prototype of the Symani platform and established an in-house manufacturing facility within only two years. Subsequently, MMI achieved CE marking, completed +100 clinical cases and raised significant financing from reputable Medtech investors incl. Deerfield, RA Capital, Andera Partners, Fountain Healthcare Capital, Panakes Partners and Sambatech.
