Neuway – Delivery of therapeutic agents across the blood-brain-barrier

Neuway is a preclinical stage drug delivery company, which aims to overcome the biggest hurdle in the treatment of neurological diseases – the delivery of therapeutic agents across the blood-brain-barrier. To achieve this goal, Neuway has developed a proprietary method to produce Engineered Protein Capsule (EnPC), consisting of only VP1 protein from a mutated version of the John Cunningham Virus, and to fill these ensuing EnPCs with pharmacologically active drug substances, such as mRNA, DNA plasmids, oligonucleotides, antibodies, proteins and even small molecules. Neuway has established an in-house pipeline targeting severe, rare monogenetic neurological diseases, with an initial focus on Metachromatic Leukodystrophy.
