Biography
Stuart Essig joined Wellington in March 2013 as a Venture Partner on the Life Science team. He advises on medical devices and strategic decisions.
Stuart Essig currently serves as Chairman of Integra LifeSciences, a NASDAQ-listed company which has grown during his tenure as CEO (1997 to 2012) and now Chairman from US$15m to over US$1.5bn in revenues and more than US$5.0bn in enterprise value. Previously, after having served as a senior M&A advisor in the healthcare practice for ten years, he supervised the medical technology practice at Goldman, Sachs & Co. as a Managing Director.
Mr. Essig is a member of the Boards of IDEXX, SeaSpine and Breg (Chairman), and served on the Boards of St. Jude (acquired by Abbott), Owens & Minor, Zimmer and Vital Signs (acquired by GE). Stuart Essig received an A.B. degree from Princeton University (USA) and holds an MBA and a PhD degree in Financial Economics from the University of Chicago (USA).
